Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing routine and emergency repairs to equipment, fixtures, fittings and building systems. Duties include responding to reports of broken or faulty items, conducting routine inspections of equipment, and liaising with external specialists and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical and mechanical machine fault diagnosis, and repair, and when required, liaising with OEM Maintenance, for larger jobs.
- Building Maintenance – performing tasks throughout the facility, including pipe work, small electrical installation plugs, sockets & lighting systems.
- Performing routine cleaning and sanitising, including spill response, and material waste disposal.
- Completing small repairs such as fixing locks, leaky taps and broken windows.
- Liaising with grounds maintenance, trimming bushes and replacing exterior light bulbs (supplier management).
- Inspecting, troubleshooting and rectifying problems and issues reported by Cell Leaders.
- Maintaining tools and equipment required to perform the role effectively.
- Following a maintenance schedule to ensure that all routine tasks are completed and championing planned maintenance activities across the shop floor.
We are looking for an individual with ….
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role.
- An understanding of health and safety regulations such as COSHH, lifting techniques, material handling.
- A relevant qualification or experience in electrical and mechanical component repair/replacement, such as EAL Level 2 electrical installation
- A positive attitude towards work
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to take on new tasks and learn new skills
- Excellent communication and team working skills
- The ability to work on their own initiative
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- A forklift licence (desirable but is not essential).
